So i'm sure there are going to be over a million photos of magnolia gardens eventually but I shot there Sunday and heres the best of them.

So at magnolia gardens there's a petting zoo....thus the animals are very friendly and stand in front of you which makes for amazing photos!

So I found a new photo program: Picnik and I've been playing around with it over my fall break. There not great photos but I was just having fun.

Parents weekend: The Citadel...again

So once again I shot at the Citadel. This weekend was parents weekend which is a pretty big deal. So about 1/2 way into the parade it started to rain. Sad day, I had to stop shooting and put away my camera. So no shots of the game or any other part of the day....Sad. But here's the best of the best for ya:

Lighting with Bootleg and Boo

So after I got my camera I wanted to use it. The problem: it was 11:00 at night on a Sunday, what should I take photos of? So I got bored at took photos of my two favorite stuffed animals. How lame, but they did help me test my camera lighting. I used to flash on the camera covered it slightly with my hand, paper, or anything else that could shift the lighting and here's what I came up with:

The Citadel

So the citadel campus: I end up there at least 3 days a week therefor a ton of photos will be from there, the first time I shot there was probably over a year ago yet the first time i shot with my new camera was at The Citadel. So the best from that day:

The Citadel Pipe Band. I loved how clear this photo was. Sitting about half way across the field using about a 220 mm zoom and using manual focus, yeah I'm a little proud.

So with the new addition to my camera family (yes my camera equipment is like a family each of them a child that needs to be loved, nurtured, and protected) i thought it was time for a blog. Rantings of my photos, only a select few though. Most of them are on Flickr, (that has been recently been upgraded to a pro account! Oh for my film photos here’s the flickr to see)) But the blog is for my favorites.

So I’ve just entered the 21st century and now have a digital SLR. I’ve held on to my 35 mm flim camera for so long. Not that I don’t still love it and that I’ve given up on it. It was just time for digital. So the camera: a Nikon D40. The dream camera. No really, since about 14 i’ve wanted this thing. I settled for a film camera then but now I’m playing with the big dogs. So a pro flickr account + digital SLR = well on the road to professional photographer!! By the way a copy of photoshop would help too but that can wait, sigh…

So lets just wait and see what creations will come from this new shutter!
